The South Belton Tigers XC team traveled to McGregor on Saturday to take for their first XC meet of the year. The top 15 runners received medals.
The 7th grade boys and girls were the first to compete. Williams Giannetti finished 17th with a time of 14:29. He was followed by Derek Ruiz 26:30 and Connor Goodman 26:40. The 7th grade girls finished 10th with a score of 211. Alaina Beck was the first cross the finish line for South, with a time of 19:34. She was followed by Grace Smith 19:37, Annabelle Marie 19:45, Sirianna Cazales 20:09, Madison Bohannan 20:46, Kellie Gonzalez 20:54, Andrea Cruz-Contrera 24:19, Mikaela Johnson 24:22, Holly Padilla 24:31, and Klarissa Martinez 33:09.
The 8th grade boys and girls ran next. The 8th grade girls finished 8th overall with a score of 214. Aidelyn Macias was the first finish for South with a time of 16:31. She was followed by Aleena Chavez-Bustos 17:17, Rylie Venema 19:57, Emily Marcano 20:25, Kylie Skelly 20:25, Hanaleikamakaokal Aken 21:27, Raelyn Jones 22:18, Avantika Chattergoon 22:54, Sirin Bookhao 22:57, Victoria Pirr-Leon 25:31, Layla Bronner 26:00, Lily Higley 26:02, and Aubrey Oyuela-Jobe. The 8th grade boys finished 2nd overall with a score of 56. Ethan Bass took third with a time of 12:37. Alejandro Gonzalez finished 20th with a time of 14:08. He was followed by Emiliano Guzman 15:28, Cannon Carrol 19:44, Jason Galvan 23:12, and Aiden Pregler 23:14.
The South Belton will be competing in Dragon Relays at Heritage Park on Wednesday, September 3rd.
