The South Belton Tigers XC team competed in the Dragon Relays hosted by New Tech. The teams were made up of four runner, each runner ran an 800. Top five teams received medals.
The 7th grade girls were the first to run. The team of Siri Cavalaz, Madison Bohanan, Kellie Gonzalez, and Annabelle Marie finished 10th with a time of 18:05. Alaina Beck, Andrea Cruz-Contreras, Yanexa Ortiz-Hernandez, and Grace Smith finished 20th with a time of 20:02. Kiera Sanchez, Cadence Sanchez, Olivia Williams, and Holly Padilla finished 27th with a time of 23:20.
The 7th grade boys were next up. The team of Joel Perez, Kainoah Kiser, Conor Goodman, and William Giannetti finished 12th with a time 17:54.
The 8th grade girls ran next. Naylea Salinas, Aleena Chavez-Bustos, Rylie Venema, and Aidelyn Macias finished 10th with a 16:22. Sirin Bookhao, Layla Bronner, Sophia Rubio, and Emily Marcano finished 19th with a time of 18:05. Raelyn Jones, Zoei Rice, Jasmin Marin, and Hanalei Aken finished 20th with a time of 18:38. Kylie Skelly, Lilyonna Lyons, Brooklyn Navarro, and Victoria Pirr-Leon finished 22nd with a time of 19:29. Annabelle Marie, Aubrey Oyuela-Jobe, MacKenzie Griffin, and Daisy Kirkland finished 23rd with a time 19:48.
The 8th grade boys were the final race of the night. Ares Harrison, Alejandro Gonzalez, Emiliano Guzman, and Ethan Bass finished 5th with a time of 13:06. Jason Gavin, Aiden Pregler, Lorenzo Guzman, and Cannon Carol finished 17th with a team of 17:25
The South Belton XC Team will be back in action on Wednesday, September 10th in Cameron. They will be competing in the Yoe Town Harrier Invitaional.
