The South Belton Tiger XC team traveled to Cameron to compete in the Yoe Town Harrier Invitational. The top 15 runners in every division received medals.
The seventh grade girls were the first to compete. They finished 8th overall with a score of 169. Madison Bohannan was the first runner to cross the finish line for South, with a time of 19:16. She was followed by Annabelle Marie 19:40, Siri Cazalas 19:41, Alain Beck 19:50, Holly Padilla 20:53, Kellie Gonzalez 21:08, Grace Smith 21:31, Andrea Cruz-Contreras 23:07, and Mikaela Johnson 25:05.
The seventh grade boys were up next. Joel Perez finished 21st overall with a time of 14:48. William Giannetti finished 24th with a time of 15:08. They were followed by Connor Goodmen 22:39 and Derek Ruiz 22:49.
The eighth grade girls ran the third race of the night. They finished 9th with a score of 211. Aleena Chavez-Bustos was the first to cross the finish line for South, with a time of 16:39. She was followed by Rylie Venema 18:29, Emily Mercano 18:31, Kylie Skelly 18:44, Naylea Salinas 19:06.20, Jasmin Marin 19:06.80, Brooklyn Navarro 19:54, Raelyn Jones 20:14, Sirin Bookhao 20:24, Hanalei Aken 20:42, Daisy Kirkland 21:13, Lilyonna Lyons 21:23, Aubrey Oyuela-Jobe 21:30, Savannah Aure 23:10, Layla Bronner 23:21, Avantika Chattergoon 23:45, Victoria Pirr-Leon 25:50, Bailey Murphy 28:59, and Mackenzie Griffin 29:11.
The 8th grade boys were the final race of the night. They finished 4th overall with a score of 98. Ethan Bass finished 5th overall with a time of 11:56. Ares Harrison finished 12th with a time of 12:55. Alejandro Gonzalez finished 14th with a time of 12:58. They were followed by Jasiel Gonzalez 16:19, Cannon Carol 16:20, Aiden Pregler 18:36, and Jason Galvan 19:06.
The South Belton XC team will be competing at home on Wednesday, September 24th in the SBMS Invitational. Please come out and support them.
