South Belton Lady Tigers 8B volleyball team traveled to Lamar to take on the the Lady Bearcats on Thursday night.
The first set went back and forth. Lamar took a lead late in the set, but South was able to rally back. Taking a first set victory 25-23. The second started out the same as the first. Lamar was able to take another late lead. South was not able to recover, loosing the second set 20-25. The Lady Tigers won serve in the third set and came out to play. They played the best volleyball of the year in the third set. Aleena Chavez-Bustos had an amazing dig that lead to a Harper Demontigny back corner kill. Arianna Guzman served eight consecutive points. Winning the third set 15-2. Giving them their first win on the season.
Grace Perez had an incredible night at the net. Emily Faglie-Martinez had a great debut at setter. Guzman and Faglie-Martinez led the team in service points with 13 a piece. They were followed by Chavez-Bustos with six. Avery Hoffman and and Demontigny had three service points a piece. Aidelyn Macias and Bekah Martinez finished the night with one service point a piece.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action on Thursday, September 18th to take on the Lady Mustangs from Travis Science Academy. This is their first home game. Lets pack the stands and support our South Belton Volleyball Team.
