SOUTH 8A VS TRAVIS
BRIANNA SANCHEZ
South Belton | 9/22/2025
The Lady Tigers went toe-to-toe with Travis Middle School in a thrilling three-set match, ultimately falling just short in a nail-biting finish. In Game One, serve-receive struggles slowed the momentum, though Maddie Ortiz, Paisley Davis, and Analysha Moaga delivered important serving points while Amilya Mitchell hustled for 4 key digs. The Tigers stormed back in Game Two with outstanding defensive play from Arianna Dickerson and Kendyl Walker-Espino, paired with serving runs from Ortiz, Moaga, Mitchell, Gelissa Nelson, and Jade Cruz, to even the score. In the deciding set, Sirin Boonhao, Davis, and Mitchell helped spark an exciting comeback after a slow 10–4 start, but South Belton narrowly fell 15–13. Though the match ended in a loss, the Lady Tigers showed incredible fight, resilience, and teamwork that will carry them forward this season.
