The South Belton Tigers XC team was back in action at home on Wednesday. They competed in their annual South Belton Inviational. Top 15 runners earned medals.
The 7th grade girls were the first to run. They finished tenth with a score of 232. Siri Cazalas was the first to finish for South with a time of 15:03. She was followed by Annabelle Marie 15:46, Alaina Beck 15:56, Madison Bohannan 17:40, Holly Padilla 17:44, Kellie Gonzalez 18:02, Grace Smith 18:23, Andrea Cruz-Contreras 19:50, Haunani Aken 19:55, Elizabeth Deshotel 20:16, Lailah Figuero 20:16, and Mikaela Johnson 21:20.
The 7th grade boys ran second. They finished seventh with a score of 152. William Giannetti finished 12th with a time of 13:05. Joel Perez Diaz finished 17th with a time of 13:09. They were followed by Kainoah Kiser 15:08, Derek Ruiz 17:18, and Connor Goodmen 20:33.
The 8th grade girls were up next. They finished eighth with a score of 225. Aleena Chavez-Bustos was the first to finish for South with a of 14:44. She was followed by Brooklyn Navaro 16:07, Emily Marcano 16:31, Rylie Venema 16:46, Haunalei Aken 16:49, Daisy Kirkland 16:51, Kylie Skelly 16:53, Jasmin Marin 16:56, Sophia Rubio 17:04, Avantika Chattergoon 17:15, Naylea Salinas 17:23, Lilyonna Lyons 17:29, Layla Bronner 17:36, Raelyn Jones 17:49, Aubrey Oyuela-Jobe 18:08, Sirin Bookhao 18:35, Victoria Pirr-Leon 20:45, Savanah Aure 20:45, Bailey Murphy 21:24, and Mackenzie Griffin 21:29.
The race of the night was the 8th grade boys. They finished fourth with a score of 94. Ethan Bass finished fourth with a time of 11:15. Ares Harrison finished 14th with a time of 11:56. Alejandro Gonzalez finished 19th with a time of 12:02. They were followed by Jasiel Gonzalez 12:38, Emiliano Guzman 13:45, Jason Galvan 16:42, Aiden Pregler 17:04, and Lorenzo Guzman 19:57.
The XC team will be back in action on Wednesday, October 1st at Heritage Park in Belton. They will be competing in Belton Middle School Meet.
