The South Belton Tigers cross country team traveled to Waco to compete the district meet at the Heart of Texas Soccer Complex. Top 15 received medals.
The 7th grade girls were the first to compete. They finished eighth with a score of 176. Avery Pope finished 25th with a time of 15:26. She was followed by Siri Cazalas 16:28, Annabelle Marie 17:00, Alaina Beck 17:08, Kellie Gonzalez 17:52, Madison Bohanan 18:24, Victoria Leon 18:35, Holly Padilla 19:55, Haunani Aken 20:05, Elizabeth Deshotel 20:11, Andrea Cruz-Contreras 21:07, and Makaela Johnson 21:57.
The seventh grade boys were the next team to run. They finished second with a score of 46. William Giannetti finished sixth with a time of 13:26. Joel Perez-Diaz finished seventh with a time of 13:45. Jonnifer Hollingsworth finished 15th with a time of 14:30. Logan Brown finished 19th with a time of 15:03. They were followed by Kainoah Kiser 16:42, Derek Ruiz 18:58, and Connor Goodmen 19:23.
The 8th grade girls were the third race of the night. They finished 6th with a score of 144. Aidelyn Macias was the first to finish for South with a time of 14:47. She was followed by Aleena Chavez-Bustos 15:31, Rylie Venema 16:48, Hanalei Aken 17:01, Sophia Rubio 17:06, Kylie Skelly 17:18, Emily Marcano 17:49, Zoie Rice 17:55, Brooklyn Navaro 18:10, Daisy Kirkland 18:27, Raelyn Jones, Sirin Bookhao 18:34, Layla Bronner 18:36, Lilyonna Lyons 18:37, Aubrey Oyuela-Jobe 19:14, Avantika Chattergoon 20:17, Savanal Aure 21:51, Bailey Murphy 23:04, Victoria Pirr-Leon 23:45, and Mackenzie Griffin 24:33.
The 8th grade boys were the final race of the night, and they came out to compete. These boys finished first, becoming District Champions, with a score of 23. District Champion Ethan Bass finished first with a time of 11:07. Ares Harrison finished second with a time of 11:56, beating the 3rd place runner by seven one-hundredths of a second. Alejandro Gonzalez finished fourth with a time of 12:15. Jasiel Gonzalez finished fifth with a time of 12:18. Apollo Pallomares finished 14th with a time of 12:48. Cannon Carol finished 17th with a time of 13:57. Emilaino Guzman finished 20th with a time of 14:27. They were followed by Lavontae Tyler 14:38, Jason Galvan 16:54, and Aiden Pregler 17:33.
