The South Belton Lady Tigers traveled to Copperas Cove to take on the Bullpups of Cove Junior High. Defense for both teams started out strong in the first quarter. With the score being tied 4-4 at the end of the first quarter. Annabelle Marie got hot in the second quarter, giving South an 11-6 lead at the half. South was able to extend the lead in the third quarter. Cove came back in the fourth quarter, tying the game late in the fourth 19 all. Unfortunately the Lady Tigers were not able to come away with the victory in overtime. Marie finished the night with a double double, scoring 12 points and multiple rebounds. She was followed by Camile Smith with four points. Andrea Cruz had two points and Kellie Gonzalez finished the night with one.
South will be back in action on Monday, January 26th for their final game of the season. They will be taking on the their crosstown rivals from BMS at South. Come out Monday and support the Lady Tigers.
