Lady Tigers Battle Back for Electrifying Win Over North Belton
The 7A Lady Tigers took on the North Belton Broncos in a thrilling match up that tested their determination from the opening serve to the final point.
First-game jitters showed early for the Lady Tigers. Despite several strong serves, the team struggled to find its offensive rhythm and dropped the opening set. Rather than letting the slow start define the match, the Lady Tigers regrouped and came into the second set ready to compete.
The second set brought a completely different energy. The Lady Tigers settled in and fought for every point as both teams battled back and forth. Maggie Rodriguez, Maddie Hutton, Bella Hinojos, and Addison Bass put pressure on the Broncos from the service line and helped the Lady Tigers build momentum.
Defensively, the back row of Madison Stauffer, Izzy Yeaman, and Bella Hinojos kept plays alive and gave the offense opportunities to attack. At the net, Zuri McAlister, Camila Escobedo, Addison Bass, Annabell De Avila, and Ja'Liya Rodriguez kept the offensive attack moving and challenged the Broncos throughout the set.
Running the offense, setters Maggie Rodriguez and Maddie Hutton played lights out, working to put their hitters in position to attack and keeping the Lady Tigers' offense moving.
Neither team was willing to give an inch as the second set pushed beyond 25 points. With the pressure at its highest, the Lady Tigers stayed composed and continued to battle tooth and nail. Their fight paid off as they pulled out a thrilling 28–26 second-set victory, forcing a deciding third set.
With the match tied at one set apiece, it all came down to the third and deciding set. The Lady Tigers came back onto the court with confidence and were ready to finish what they had started. They jumped out strong, but North Belton wasn't going down without a fight, answering with a four-point run of its own.
The Lady Tigers didn't panic. They responded, regained control, and kept their foot on the gas. With the energy building on every point, the girls continued to battle until they put the match away with an electrifying 15–10 third-set victory!
From first-game jitters to a hard-fought comeback, the Lady Tigers showed resilience, teamwork, and heart. When the pressure was at its highest, they stayed together, continued to fight, and found a way to get the job done.
