8A VOLLEYBALL VS NORTH BELTON

The South Belton Lady Tigers had their home opener and first game of the season on Thursday against North Belton. These ladies came out to play.
South had some first game jitters in the first set. North took the lead early, but could never fully put South away. Kaylee Blake had some incredible digs that kept South in the game. Unfortunately South fell a little short in the first set 21-25.
In the second set South came out fired up. They went on a 5-0 run to start the set, and never surrendered the lead. North started to rally, but Camile Smith came up big with back to back blocks, and played well at the net all night long. The Lady Tigers came away with 25-19 victory, taking North to a third set.
In the third set, North took an early 3-0 lead. Annabelle Marie had an incredible one handed save that led to South taking 7-5 lead in the middle of the set. Strong serving from Kellie Gonzalez and Khiaa Robinson gave South the lead. These ladies came away with a third set victory 15-10. Winning their home opener against a strong North Belton team.
Leading the team in services points on the night was Gonzalez and Robinson with 15 points a piece. The were followed by Blake with ten. London Buchanan and Marie each had eight points off of serves. Buchanan had the winning serves in the second and third sets. They were followed by Avery Pope with seven service points. Marley Davila finished the night with three service points.
The South Belton Lady Tigers will be back in action against the Lady Bearcats from Lamar at home on Thursday, September 10th. Lets pack the stands again. Come out and support these incredible ladies.
