8A VOLLEYBALL @ MIDWAY

The 8A South Belton Lady Tigers traveled to Midway to take on the Pantherettes on Thursday. This was their first away game of the season, and third game of the season.
In the first set the Lady Tigers battled back and forth with Midway. Both teams struggled with unforced errors. Midway was able to take a lead late in the set, which was enough for them to come away with a win 19-25. South struggled with serving and more unforced errors in the second set. The Lady Tigers could not find their groove, and fell short in the second set. Giving Midway the win on the night.
Overall South's serve receive looked much stronger then it had then the previous week. Leading the team in service points was Haunani Aken with six. She was followed by Khiaa Robinson and Annabelle Marie with three a piece. London Buchanan and Avery Pope each finished the night with two a piece. Marley Davila and Kellie Gonzalez had one service point each.
The South Belton Lady Tigers will be back in action in Belton Volleyball Tournament on Friday and Saturday at Lake Belton Middle School. They will open the tournament against the Lorena Leopards at 4:30 on Friday night.
