The South Belton Lady Tigers faced off against Midway in an exciting three-set battle that tested their determination, resilience, and ability to respond under pressure. After dropping the opening set, the Lady Tigers fought their way back to secure an impressive 2–1 victory!
South Belton struggled to find its rhythm early in the opening set as Midway established momentum. The Lady Tigers continued to battle, working to keep the ball alive and put pressure on their opponent. Despite their efforts, Midway maintained control and claimed the opening set, 25–19.
With the match on the line, the Lady Tigers returned to the court determined to turn things around!
South Belton began finding its rhythm in the second set, showing more consistency from the service line and battling for every point. The Lady Tigers responded to Midway's pressure, built momentum, and refused to back down. Their determination paid off as South Belton fought its way to a 25–21 second-set victory, forcing a decisive third set!
With the match tied at one set apiece, South Belton returned to the court ready to finish what it started.
The Lady Tigers established momentum early and continued putting pressure on Midway. With South Belton at 7 points, Bella Hinojos stepped behind the service line and delivered an outstanding 6-point serving run, helping push the Lady Tigers to 13 points and putting them in position to close out the match!
South Belton finished strong, securing a commanding 15–7 third-set victory and completing the comeback!
Throughout the three-set match, the Lady Tigers received strong contributions from several players at the service line. Annabell De Avila led the team with 8 serving points, followed by Bella Hinojos with 7, Maddie Hutton with 6, Maggie Rodriguez with 5, and Addison Bass with 4. Their combined efforts helped the Lady Tigers regain momentum, keep Midway under pressure, and secure the victory.
The Lady Tigers' success was also fueled by their defensive efforts across the court. Ja’Liya Rodriguez, Zuri McAlister, and Camila Escobedo held down the front row, challenging Midway at the net and helping keep the pressure on throughout the match. In the back row, Izzy Yeaman and Madison Stauffer worked to keep the ball alive, providing defensive support and helping South Belton stay in the rally. Together, their efforts complemented the team's serving and helped the Lady Tigers battle their way to victory.
From battling through a difficult opening set to taking control when the match was on the line, the Lady Tigers demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and determination.
