The South Belton Middle School 8th Grade A Team defeated Lamar Middle School 8-0 in a hard-fought defensive battle that was decided in the final minute.
With just 30 seconds remaining, Ezekial Villalba Harris scored the game-winning touchdown on a 12-yard run, giving South Belton a 6-0 lead. Josiah Gutierrez followed with a successful PAT to extend the lead to 8-0.
The defense was outstanding throughout the game and played a major role in securing the shutout. Josiah Larkin led the pass rush with three sacks, consistently getting into the Lamar backfield and disrupting the offense.
South Belton's defense held firm when it mattered most, while the offense capitalized on its late opportunity. The team's combination of defensive pressure, execution, and determination resulted in an 8-0 victory over Lamar Middle School.
Next week, the Tigers will hit the road for the first time this season as they travel to Midway to take on the Panthers. South Belton will look to carry the momentum from this win into their first road game of the season.
