?? Lady Tigers Battle Lake Belton in Three-Set Thriller

The South Belton Lady Tigers 7A took on Lake Belton in a hard-fought three-set battle that featured big plays at the net, hustle plays, and strong serving runs throughout the match.

Set 1 — Lake Belton 25, South Belton 19

The Lady Tigers came out ready to compete, battling back and forth with Lake Belton throughout the opening set. South had several strong moments from the service line, including a serving run from Maggie Rodriguez that helped keep the Lady Tigers within striking distance.
Defensively, South showed tremendous effort. Addison Bass made huge hustle plays at the net to keep the ball alive, as the Lady Tigers continued fighting for points and working to stay in system.

Despite the fight, Lake Belton was able to create some separation late and take Set 1, 25–19.

Set 2 — South Belton 25, Lake Belton 15

South responded in a BIG way.
The Lady Tigers came onto the court with a different level of energy and immediately began putting Lake Belton under pressure. Bella Hinojos went on a strong serving run, followed by Annabelle De Avila adding another run to help South build its lead and keep the momentum rolling.

The front row stepped up in a big way. Maddie Hutton came up with a HUGE block, while Ja’Liya Rodriguez, Madisyn Sirianna, and Zuri McAlister continued applying pressure at the net. Zuri stayed aggressive in the front row, challenging Lake Belton’s hitters and helping South control the net.
The hustle didn’t stop there. Madison Stauffer made a great save to keep a rally alive, turning what looked like a lost point into another opportunity. Izzy Yeaman provided strong back-row defense, helping control tough balls and keeping rallies alive for the Lady Tigers.

South was clicking as a team—serving aggressively, hustling for loose balls, controlling the net, and battling defensively in the back row. The Lady Tigers fed off one another’s energy and took control of the set, earning an impressive 25–15 victory and forcing a deciding third set.

Set 3 — Lake Belton 15, South Belton 6

With the match tied 1–1, everything came down to Set 3.
Lake Belton grabbed the early momentum and put South under pressure. The Lady Tigers continued to battle and showed flashes of the same hustle and fight they displayed throughout the match, but they weren't able to put together the extended runs that fueled their second-set victory.
Lake Belton ultimately closed out the deciding set 15–6, taking the match 2–1.

?? Lady Tigers Continue to Grow

Although the final result wasn't what South wanted, there were plenty of moments to be proud of. After dropping the opening set, the Lady Tigers responded with an impressive 25–15 second-set victory and showed what they are capable of when their serving, front-row pressure, back-row defense, communication, and hustle all come together.
