The South Belton Coed Cross Country team competed in Belton Middle School Meet at Heritage Park. There were over 600 runners competing from 35 schools. Top 15 runner from each division earned medals. This is their final meet before running in the district meet in two weeks.
The first group to run was the 7th grade girls. They finished 7th overall with a score of 208. La'Kenzie Day finished fifth overall with a time of 14:05. She was followed by Talia Vitaliano 17:54, Annabel Bohannan 18:13, Maiya Parker 18:15, Avarie Wilhoite 19:01, Paisley Vicker 19:05, Madeline Vazquez 20:04, Kamiyah Harris 20:17, Emmalyn Bohannan 20:43, Zyndayya Sandoval 21:57, Cierra Alvarado 22:05, Emily Howard 22:41, Amiyah Salas-Shed 22:43, Kimberly Rosales 23:34, Olivia Oliver 23:41, Carina Quinones, Elena Harrison 24:36, Hawa Couchane 24:47, Annalea Leos 25:16, Anika Harrison 25:36, Zoe Henriquez 25:56, and Paisley Williams 30:34.
The 8th grade girls were the next group to run for South. They finished 12th overal with a score of 291. Natalie Adams was the first South Belton runner to finish with a time of 16:55. She was followed by Avery Pope 17:29, Siri Cazalas 17:54, Lailah Figueroa 19:06, Annabelle Marie 19:37, Kellie Gonzalez 20:05, Ariyah Schrimsher 20:55, Madison Bohannan 21:14, Lylah Cuellar, Marisol Patrenets 21:44, Maria Enriquez Enriquez 21:48, Haunani Aken 22:44, and Kallie Quintanilla 22:52.
The final race of the night was the 8th grade boys. They finished 3rd overall with a score of 106. Gerik Gerhard finished 8th overall with a time of 13:14. Jensen Vazquez finished 20th with a time of 14:04. They were followed by Enzo Gianetti 14:20, Nixon Williams 14:37, Kainoah Kiser 14:38, Francisco Vazquez 17:10, Derek Ruiz 20:22, and Julian Galindo 20:24.
The South cross country team will be competing in their final meet of the year at the district meet on Wednesday, October 14th at the Heart of Texas Soccer Complex in Waco. Come out and support these amazing runners as they put all their hard work into one final meet.
