?? 7B Lady Tigers Show Growth Against River Valley
The 7B Lady Tigers took the court Thursday night against River Valley Middle School in a competitive matchup that challenged South Belton to continue building its teamwork, communication, and confidence.
In the opening set, the Lady Tigers came ready to compete, showing improvement in their communication and movement on the court. Camila Escobedo brought a strong defensive presence at the net, while Emmalyn Bohannan made key digs to help keep rallies alive. Annabel Bohannan provided a spark from the service line, helping the Tigers build momentum. South Belton continued to battle and find ways to keep the ball in play, but River Valley eventually pulled ahead to take the first set, 25–18.
The second set brought another challenge as River Valley established an early lead. Despite the pressure, the Lady Tigers continued working to find their rhythm and create opportunities on offense. Mia Bennett stepped up with strong play at the net, while Serenity Roldan contributed from the service line. Naomi Dominguez-Torres helped anchor the Tigers' defense, working to keep South Belton in the rallies. The Lady Tigers continued to compete, but River Valley secured the second set, 25–11.
While the scoreboard did not fall in their favor, the Lady Tigers showed encouraging signs of growth, particularly in their communication, movement, and ability to work together.
The Lady Tigers are learning that growth isn't always reflected in the final score. It's found in the effort, the adjustments, and the willingness to keep showing up and doing the hard things.
