Grit on the Court: Lady Tigers Keep Fighting ????

The 7B Lady Tigers brought grit, resilience, and determination to the court against BMS last night, delivering an exciting first set that showed how much this team continues to grow.

South Belton battled throughout the opening set, keeping the score close and making BMS work for the win. Shayla Salazar helped build momentum with a three-point serving run, giving the Lady Tigers valuable scoring opportunities. Serenity Roldan stepped up at the service line and served them up. Layla Little and Hallie Skelly added two points with their serving bringing South Belton to 23! Every point mattered in this competitive matchup, and the girls continued fighting through a tight 23–25 finish.

The Lady Tigers carried that determination into the second set. Naomi Dominguez-Torres provided a big spark from the service line, putting together an impressive six-point serving run that moved South Belton from one point to seven. Her serving gave the team an opportunity to build momentum and stay in the fight. The back row faced a tough challenge against BMS’s strong serves, but the girls stayed determined, working to get to the ball and keep it in play. Even under pressure, they showed courage and continued fighting for each point.

Although BMS took the second set 25–13, the final score does not tell the whole story. South Belton’s competitive first set and strong serving stretches gave the girls meaningful moments to build on. They showed grit and resilience against a challenging opponent, and their effort deserves to be recognized ????.
