SBMS 7TH GRADERS CLOSE THE SEASON ON A HIGH NOTE

The 7th grade Red & White team joined forces to take on the Lamar Bearcats this Monday. Abdiel Irizarry had a receiving and rushing touchdown on the Tiger’s first two offensive possessions. Jay Mitchel made an incredible one handed interception to give the ball back to the Tiger Offense. Shortly after, LaDarris Brown scored a touchdown. He would continue to make an impression on defense by chasing down the opposition to keep Lamar out of the endzone. Ephraim Sheppard and Ivan Palacios made their impact by limiting the Bearcat’s run game. South’s defensive line combined for a handful of sacks led by Julian Harding and Rolando Jimenez. Whether players were recovering onside kicks or setting blocks for a long touchdown, the Tigers played great team football to earn a 32-16 victory.
