Here is a recap of the results from the Georgetown Tournament. SBMS played Forbes MS. The team played so much better but fell short to Fobes 14-19. In Saturdays game against Wagner the Lady Tigers came out and scored two quick baskets to go ahead and stay ahead and win with the score of 14-8. Playing for Consolation agaiinst a very talent team SBMS hustle the whole game but could not score. Only have two buckets to their 35 points. This tournament was a great learning curve and we are now building from the experience.
The South Belton 7A basketball team came out strong off of their win against Bonham on Friday 11/17 when they played Forbes Middle School. Abigail Salinas immediately swished a three for the Lady Tigers securing the first points of the game. The game slowed and Forbes took the game 13-26. On Saturday, 11/18 the girls played against Wagner Middle School and fell short again 2-20. We struggled to wake up and compete. The last game of the tournament we played Behold Middle School. The game ended in a 2-19 loss for the Lady Tigers, but their defense improved greatly from the beginning of the tournament to the end. We saw some great progress from the girls and are excited to see them progress throughout the season. The girls played hard and we are proud of them. The Lady Tigers compete again against S.C Lee, Wednesday November 29th at 6 pm.
