The South Belton 8B Lady Tigers traveled to Belton High School to take on the Lady Tigers from Belton Middle. South couldn't find their offense in the first quarter, and went down 9-2. The second quarter was much different. South was able to make a small run, down 8-19 going into the half. The second half was similar to the first. South was not able to come away with a victory. Adriana Jaimes and Carmen Gayden played well on both of ball. Gayden led the team in scoring with six points. Followed by Crystal Loeza with four points. Abryela Martinez finished the night with three points. Jaimes, Catalyna Siprian, and Lorol Emrick each contributed two points.
The 8A Lady Tigers played the second game of the night. These ladies came out strong in the first quarter taking a 9-6 lead. South struggled offensively in the second quarter. BMS took a 13-16 lead into the half. BMS came out hot in the third quarter, and were able to take 26-37 lead into the fourth quarter. South stepped it up in the fourth quarter, but were unable to come away with a win. Isabella Warner had a great game on both side of the ball. Jada Gage and Hannah Martinez played well in the paint on both sides of the ball. Warner led the team in scoring with 24. Followed by Martinez with nine. Natalie Stauffer finished the night with three points.
The South Belton Lady Tigers will be back in action on Thursday, February 8th. They will be taking on the Lady Bearcats from Lamar at home. Come out and support these ladies as they finish up the regular season.
