The South Belton Tiger Cross Country Team Traveled to Heritage Park to compete in the Dragon Relays. Teams consisted of four runners with each runner running an 800meter dash. Top 3 teams in each division received medals. South had a great showing.
The seventh grade girls were the first to run.
Aidelyn Macias, Naylea Salinas, Dahlia Leal, and Aleena Chavez-Bustos ran a 15:33 finishing in 7th place.
Rylie Venema, Bianca Bautista, Jasmin Marin, and Sirin Bookhao ran a 18:24.
The eighth grade girls ran next for South.
Natalie Mott, Abigail Gantivar, Jaqelin Jimenez, and Abigail Salinas ran a 14.17 finishing fifth.
Elia Gonzalez, Alihanna Knight, Ayla Wakershauser, and Sarah Kirkland ran a 15:56 finishing 16th.
Chloe Griffin, Destiny Williams, Bianca Avila, and Samara Esparza ran a 17:15.
Avantika Chattergoon, Valeria Hernandez, Daisy Kirkland, and Mya Williams ran a 18:24.
The eighth grade boys were the final race of the evening.
Rolando Jimenez, Mason Torres, Ja' Mitchell, and Abdiel Guerra ran a 13:09 finishing third.
Julian Avila, Barrett Brown, Ernesto Aguirre, and Jorge Enriquez ran a 14:55 finishing 16th.
James McGrath, Mathew Guillen, Jaxon Higley, and Ladarius Brown ran a 15:34.
The cross country team will be back in action next week on Wednesday, September 11th. They will be traveling to Cameron to compete in the Yoe Town Harriers Invitational.
