The South Belton Tigers XC Team traveled to Cameron yesterday to compete in the Yoe Town Harrier Invitational. Top 15 receiving individual medals, and 1st and 2nd place teams received an additional seven medals.
The girls were the first run, and they came out to compete taking 2nd place. The top seven from South were the following. Abigail Salinas finished 10th with a 14:42. Ayla Wakershauser finished 11th with a 14:47. Abigail Gantivar finished 14th with a 14:58. Natalie Mott ran a 15:24. Aidelyn Macias ran a 15:36. Aleena Chavez-Bustos ran a 16:24. Sarah Kirkland ran a 16:37. Destiny Williams shaved three minutes off of her previous two mile time. The following athletes ran hard and competed well: Bianca Avila, Bianca Bautista, Aryanna Cruz, Avantika Chattergoon, Samara Esparza, Lizbeth Perez, Chloe Griffin, Alihanna Knight, Dahlia Leal, Jasmin Marin, Naylea Salinas, Rylie Venema, Valeria Hernnadez, Daisy Kirkland, Mya Williams, and Lily Higley.
The boys were next to run. They competed well, finishing eighth overall. Ernesto Aquirre shaved over a minute of his previous two mile time, running a 20:11. Julian Avila 16:09; Berret Brown 17:29; Jaxon Higley 17.38; Mathew Guillen 22.22; and Louis Salazar 23.25.
The South Belton XC Team will be off next week. They will be competing again at South Belton on Wednesday, September 25th. This will be home meet. lets get out and support our Tigers!
