7TH GRADE VS. BMS

7th Grade vs. BMS

SETH BATES

Football | 9/19/2024

South Belton’s 7th grade team traveled to Tiger Stadium to take on the BMS Tigers.

The White Team was unable to stop BMS on defense and struggled to move the ball on offense. Some stand out players were Hashim Zahid, and Cannon Carroll for their tackling, and Ares Harrison with an interception returned for a touchdown. The lack of offense and mistakes on defense lead to a painful loss for the South Belton Tigers. The final score was BMS 25 to SBMS 6.

The Red team stumbled out of the gates with a first drive turnover on their own 16 yardline. However, the defense responded with a stop on 4 straight plays. For the remainder of the half both defenses stood strong against the opposing offense. Key playmakers for South Belton were Lavantae Tyler, Jeff McFadden, and Miguel Benavidez. Offensively the SBMS started to move the ball in the second half. One long run by Gabriel McLeod put South Belton up 6-0. A couple touchdown saving tackles by Bear Vantrostenbergh and Ethan Bass held Belton Middle school to zero points, and an interception by Royace Young sealed the deal for a South Side victory.

You can catch the Tigers next Monday, September 23rd at Tiger field as they take on the Lake Belton Middle school Broncos.
