SBMS White:
SBMS 8th grade white team was able to squeeze out a win against BMS. SBMS struggled to get going on offense which allowed BMS to jump to a 6 point lead. The defense made some key adjustments early which allowed Mark Rodriguez and Ke’Andre Johnson to dominate the line of scrimmage and shut BMS offense down the rest of the game. Great team defense created enough momentum for Enoc Gonzalez and the offense to generate a rushing touchdown and an extra point conversion to give South Belton the 7 to 6 victory!
SBMS Red:
SBMS 8th grade red team was able to dig deep to earn a comeback win against BMS. SBMS started the game strong with their opening drive lasting the entirety of the first quarter and ending with a rushing touchdown from Abdiel Irizarry-Guerra. BMS answered back in commanding fashion to gain a 8 to 6 lead at half. BMS also followed the opening drive in the second half with a touchdown to gain a 16 to 6 lead. Ephraim Sheppard and Bentley Stauffer led a strong defensive presence which did not allow any more points the rest of the game. The offense was able to gain two more touchdowns behind the blocking of Ivan Palacios and Ephriam Sheppard to seal a 18 to 16 victory!
