The South Belton Tigers Cross Country Team competed in their annual home meet. There were 17 teams with almost 600 runners. Top 15 runners from each division received medals.
The seventh grade girls were the first to run. They finished eighth with a score of 216. Aleena Chavez 14:50; Aidelyn Macias 14:57; Rylie Venema 16:28; Mya Williams 16:57; Naylea Salinas 17:27; Dahlia Leal 17:38; Avantika Chattergoon 19:28; Lizbeth Perez 19:30; Bianca Bautista 21:19; Daisy Kirkland 21:20; and Jasmin Marin 22:01.
The seventh grade boys were next up. Mathew Guillen ran a 19:22 shaving three minutes off his previous meet times.
The eighth grade girls were up next. These ladies finished fifth overall with a score of 143. Abigail Salinas finished 12th with a time of 13:59. Ayla Wakershauser finished 13th with a time of 14:07. Natalie Mott 14:52; Abigail Gantivar 15:17; Jaqelin Jimenez 15:22; Aryanna Cruz 15:26; Sarah Kirkland 16:01; Markayla Allen 16:06; Chloe Griffin 16:13; Destiny Williams 17:22; Elia Gonzalez 18:03; Alihanna Knight 18:22; Bianca Avila 19:12; Samara Esparza 19:23; and Valeria Hernandez 21:01.
The final race of the night was the eighth grade boys. Ja' Mitchell ran a 13:20; Ladarius Brown ran a 13.59; and Julian Avila ran a 14:30.
The South Belton Tigers XC Team will be back in action on Wednesday, October 2nd. They will be competing in the Belton Middle School Meet at Heritage Park.
