The South Belton Tigers Cross Country Team traveled to Heritage Park to run in the Belton Middle School Invitational. The top 15 places in each division received medals.
The seventh grade girls were the first to run. They finished 10th overall with a score of 242. Aleena Cahvez-Bustos finished 18th with a time of 15:27. Aidelyn Macias 16:17; Naylea Salinas 20:56; Mya Williams 22:18; Bianca Bautista 22:21; Lizbeth Perez 22:27; Daisy Kirkland 23:45; Avantika Chattergoon 25:20; and Lily Higley 25:21.
The eighth grade girls were next to run for South. They finished in fourth overall with a score of 107. Ayla Wakeshauser finished 12th with a time of 14:50. Abigail Gantivar finished 15th with a time of 15:00. Abigail Salinas finished 23rd with a time of 15:51. Sarah Kirkland finished 24th with a time of 15:52. Natalie Mott 17:25; Aryanna Cruz 17:57; Chloe Griffin 18:48; Markayla Allen 19:13; Jaqelin Jimenez 19:21; Destiny Williams 20:12; Alihanna Knight 20:53; Samara Esparza 20:56; Bianca Avila 21:57; and Valeria Hernandez 24:21.
The eighth grade boys were the final race of the night. They finished in seventh place with a score of 164. Rolando Jimenez finished 36th with a time of 14:24. Julian Avila 15:16; Ja' Mitchell 15:26; Ladarius Brown 15:28; and James McGrath 20:52.
The South Belton Tigers will be in back action for their final meet of the of the year. They will be competing in the District Meet at Lions Park in Temple on Wednesday, October 9th. Come on out and support these athletes.
