The South Belton Tiger Cross Country Team traveled to Lions Park in Temple to compete in the district meet. There were 11 schools competing in the meet. The top 15 places received medals.
The seventh grade girls were the first to run. They finished 6th overall with a score of 139. Aleena Chavez-Bustos finished 11th with a time of 16:16. Aidelyn Macias finished 12th with a time of 16:21. Rylie Venema 18:56; Naylea Salinas 20:15; Lizbeth Perez 21:41; Mya Williams 22:40; Dahlia Leal 23:11; Avantika Chattergoon 24:26; Bianca Bautista 24:32; Daisy Kirkland 24:53; Lily Higley 25:35; and Jasmin Marin 26:15.
The seventh grade boys ran next. They finished fourth overall with a score of 84. Ethan Bass finished third with a time of 13:58. Ares Harrison finished 16th with a time of 15:21. Miguel Benavidez 17:48; Gabriel McCloud 17:49; Emiliano Guzman 19:09; Yeshua Avila 19:49; Cannon Carol 20:38; and Mathew Guillen 22:00.
The eighth grade girls were next up. They finished in third place with a score of 71. Abigail Gantivar finished fifth with a time of 14:57. Ayla Wakershauser finished ninth with a time of 15:07. Abigail Salinas finished 15th with a time of 15:33. Sarah Kirkland 17:01; Jaqelin Jimenez 17:14; Natalie Mott 17:21; Aryanna Cruz 17:32; Markayla Allen 17:42; Chloe Griffin 19:08; Alihanna Knight 19:42; Elia Gonzalez 19:47; Destiny Williams 20:10; Bianca Avila 21:05; Samara Esparza 22:51; and Valeria Hernandez 25:46.
The eighth grade boys were the final race of the night. They finished 5th overall with a score of 110. Ja' Mitchell finished 20th with a time of 14:20. Rolando Jimenez 14:35; Barrett Brown 14:47; Ladarius Brown 15:06; and Julian Avila 16:27.
South Belton Tigers had a successful cross country season this year, bringing home numerous medals. Thank you to everyone who came out to support them!
