The South Belton 7B Lady Tigers ended the season with a fiercely contested battle against the Lady Bullpups of Cove Middle School. The Lady Bullpups pulled away in the first game after an initial back and forth battle for the lead. Arianna Guzman, Harper Demontigny, Rebekah Martinez and Adrianna Gonzalez all made contributions to the effort.
The second game stayed tight throughout with the Lady Tigers clawing for every point and never falling behind more than three points. The Lady Tigers finally made their move and pushed ahead behind the great serving of Lily Higley, Grace Perez and Aliyah Tyler. The Lady Tigers secured the 26-24 win accompanied by the roar of the Tiger crowd.
The third and final game was another battle with the score continually swinging back and forth. The Lady Tigers closed with three straight points by Peyton Valdez and great net play by Aleena Chavez-Bustos, Abigail King, Paisley Wright and Abigail Munden to even the score at 14-14. The Lady Bullpups edged out the Lady Tigers for the last two points and the 16-14 win. The Lady Tigers grew leaps and bounds from the first game to the last-demonstrating a huge heart and desire to win.
