SBMS Red:
SBMS 8th grade red team faced a well disciplined Travis team. SBMS was not able to get much momentum going early on offense and Travis’s big play ability allowed them to jump to a 16-0 lead in the first half. SBMS was able to gain momentum late in the first half from a great defensive stand. Julian Harding was an anchor on the defensive line and was able to make a crucial tackle for loss to prevent Travis from extending their lead. Abdiel Irizarry-Guerra scored the only touchdown for SBMS behind the blocking of Vernon Kong. SBMS struggled with Travis’s big play ability and lost by a score of 36 to 8. SBMS will conclude their season against Copperas Cove.
SBMS White:
SBMS 8th grade white team was involved in a high scoring contest against Travis. The offensive line had their most complete game of the season which helped the team outscore Travis in the end. The offensive standouts for SBMS were Enoc Gonzalez and Jackson Lykins. Enoch had 4 rushing touchdowns while Jackson contributed to the final score with 2 receiving touchdowns. On the defensive side Nathaniel Suniga was able to adjust and play good coverage on Travis’s best receiver. Ke’Andre’ Johnson applied consistent pressure and had a couple of crucial tackles for losses. SBMS won by a final score of 40 to 33.
