The South Belton 7A Lady Tigers traveled to Cove to complete in the district tournament on Saturday morning. They would be playing Rive Valley.
South got a slow start in the first set and fell behind early. Giving River Valley a first set win 9-25. The second was much better. South broke River Valley's serve and took an early lead. They continued to hold the lead, leading 9-7. River Valley took a 15-14, and were able to hold the lead. Winning the second set 15-25.
Analysha Moaga led the team with eight service points. Followed by Paisley Davis with two points. Sirin Bookhao and Camilla Estrada each contributed with one point a piece. Madilyn Ortiz and Kendyl Walker-Espino played well on the outside. Gelissa Nelson and Arianna Dickerson played strong in the middle, with Nelson forcing River Valley to tip multiple balls. Amilya Mitchell played well at Libero. Esmeralda Alvarado did a great job in serve receive. Lizbeth Guzman-Perez had a great dig on a hard hit. Harper Demontigny, Abigail King, Grace Perez, and Rebekah Martinez showed great improvement through out the season.
This has been a competitive and entertaining season. These young ladies showed so much growth from the first game to the district tournament. The future looks bright for South Volleyball. Thank you to everyone that came out to support these incredible young ladies.
