The South Belton Lady Tigers had their season opener at home against the Lady Bearcats from Lamar. The game started as a defense battle with both teams struggle to score a basket. The first quarter ended with South having 4-2 lead. South was able to move the ball better in the second quarter, taking a 11-2 lead into half time. These ladies continued to show strong defense in the second half. Allowing only four points on the whole night. The Lady Tigers came away with a 14-4 victory to start district 1-0.
Arianna Dickerson land Camilla Estrada led the team in scoring with four points a piece. They were followed by Kendyl Waler-Espino and Gelissa Nelson with two each. Aliyah Tyler and Harper Crawford finished the night with one point each. Lizbeth Guzman-Perez, Evelyn Rodas, Aidelyn Macias played incredible defense. Isabel Capers and Paisley controlled the tempo of the game. Sofia Retana was tough in the paint.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action after the break. They will be at River Valley on Thursday, December 5th.
