The South Belton Lady Tigers hosted their crosstown rivals, Lady Broncos from Lake Belton Middle School. South played strong defense, and scored the first points of the game. The first quarter ended with the Lady Tigers down 2-5. In the second quarter Lake was able to find some offense, and took a 4-16 lead into the half. The third quarter started much like the first with strong defense. Lake kept the lead going into the fourth 7-16. South played solid defense through out the night, but were not able to come away with the win. They moved the ball well on offense, and had better shots. Gelissa Nelson had an incredible night on defense and rebounding. Paisley Davis led the team in scoring with four. She was followed by Sofia Retana and Harper Crawford with two a piece. Kendyl Walker-Espino and Camila Estrada finished the night with one a piece.
The South Belton Lady Tigers will be traveling to Coperas Cove to take on the Bullpups from Cove Junior High on Thursday, January 16th. Come out and support the Lady Tigers.
