The South Belton Lady Tigers traveled to Cove Junior High to compete against the Lady Bullpups. This was a tough physical game. Gelissa Nelson scored the first two points of the night. South scored another four points in the second quarter. Cove took a 8-6 lead into the half. The Lady Tigers played the best defense of the season in the second half, only allowing Cove to score four points the remainder of the game. South struggled to find their offense in the second half, and lost 10-12. Nelson led the team in rebounding and scoring with six points. She was followed by Aliyah Tyler with strong night on the glass and contributing two points. Aidlyn Macias and Paisley Davis scored a point a piece. The Lady Tigers continue to improve on both sides of the ball.
South will be back in action on Thursday, January 23rd for their final home game of the year. They will be hosting the Lady Mustangs from Travis Science Academy. Lets pack the stands and support the Lady Tigers as they make a late season push to get into the district tournament.
