The South Belton cross country team traveled to Cameron to compete in the Yoe Town Harrier Invitational. This was first two mile course of the season. Top 15 runners in each division received medals.
The first to run were the 7th grade girls. La'Kenzie Day finished 5th overall with a time of 14:55. She was followed by Talia Vitliano 17:20, Madeline Vasquez 17:59, Athena Sandoval 19:06, Mayia Parker 19:13, Paris Varner 19:29, Paisley Vicker, 19:33, Kimberly Rosales 20:22, Olivia Oliver 21:41, Kamiyah Harris 21:58, Emily Howard 22:03, Cierra Alvarado 22:48, Hawa Chouchane 23:07, Zyndayya Sandoval 23:43, Amiyah Salas-Shed 24:19, Anika Harrison 25:01, Annalea Leos 25:13, Carina Quinones 25:28, Chloe Vance 26:08, Noelle Martinez 26:28, Zoe Henriquez 26:30, Paisley Williams 27:01, and Evelyn Rosales 29:22.
The 8th girls were up next. Avery Pope was the first to finish for South with a time of 16:16. She was followed by Siri Cazalas 16:18, Lylah Cuellar 17:06, Ariyah Schrimsher 17:55, Annabelle Marie 18:08, Kellie Gonzalez 18:09, Madison Bohannan 18:10, Holly Padilla 19:20, Lailah Figueroa 19:34, Korianna Putman, and Marisol Patrenets 21:10.
The 8th grade boys were the final team to run. Gerik Gerhard finished 7th overall with a time of 12:26. Jensen Vazquez finished 21st with a time of 13:23. They were followed by Kainoah Kiser 13:58, Nixon Williams 14:03, Connor Youngblood 16:27, and Derek Ruiz 19:00.
The South Belton cross country will be competing at in the Bronco Middle School Invitational at Crossroads Park in Temple on Wednesday, September 16th.
