SOUTH 8A VOLLEYBALL VS LAMAR

The South Belton Lady Tigers hosted the Lady Bearcats from Lamar on Thursday night.
South started the first set a little flat and fell behind early. They struggled to get into a routine offensively and defensively. Loosing the first set 8-25.
The second was a very different scenario. South found their grove, and went back and forth with Lamar. The Lady Tigers pulled out a close 27-25 second set victory, forcing a third set.
Lamar won the toss in the third and took first serve. They opened with with 0-3 lead, but south battled back to tie it 3-3. There were multiple lead changes, until Lamar took a late lead and won the third set 11-15.
Leading the team in service points was Annabelle Marie with ten. She was followed by London Buchanan with seven. Haunani Aken and Khiaa Robinson each had five service points a piece. Kellie Gonzalez, Marley Davila, and Avery Pope each finished the night with three service points.
Even though they lost the game, these young ladies showed a lot of heart and fought the entire game. With multiple players having to play new positions. They never gave up! South is 1-1 on the season. The Lady Tigers will be traveling to Midway to take on the Pantherettes on Thursday, September 17th.
